Last year, Alex Jonesconed what would have beena winning run in F Preparedagainst Tom O’Gorman. That’squite an accomplishment inthis lofty company, so he getsthe pick this year, aided by ourexpectation of O’Gorman runningin BSP. Adam Norton and DavidMontgomery should providehim plenty of competition.
If FPL makes a class, expect Charina Jones tofinish atop the podium.
Border closure may affect
A Modified participation, which
leaves us picking David O’Maley
over Jenny O’Maley in a repeat.
B Modified won’t be a
large class, but it will be fast.
Matt Ellam has taken over
the family business of winning
and should add to his record
this year. Tom Ellam, Zak
Moore, and Dan Cyr are all
capable of making us wrong.
C Modified may againsee the Clements car in thewinner’s circle, this timewith Jonathan Clementsdriving – if he can get thetime off and make the trip.
If he can’t, father Eric coulddo the deed. Ben Martinezand Brandon Lavender havechampionships to their namesand are capable of adding more.
CML may not make achampionship, but if it does, watch for Krystal Lavenderor Mari Clements.
D Modified should be anotherclose battle between MarkHuffman, Jeremy Ellerby, andco-drivers Bob Tunnell and EricPrill. Any is entirely capable oftaking this one, but our moneyis on Tunnell to return to form.
It would be plain foolishnessto pick anyone other thanPatty Tunnell in DML.
On that note, E Modified isJeff Kiesel’s domain. Withouta multi-cone day or a brokencar, he has proven to beunbeatable. Jason Minehartcontinues to improve his Stalker, and Mark Sawatsky does thesame with the MGB (and wehope he can cross the borderto make the competition).
The most likely challenge
to break Shawn Kiesel’s
10-year EML winning streak
would be daughter Kaila,
but as a recent high school
graduate, we don’t think she’s
quite ready for that yet.
Continuing a brokenrecord, Zak Kiesel shouldput another Kiesel line in theback of the rulebook on theF Modified section, thoughwe aren’t counting out JasonHobbs and Will Lahee.
Watch for Andie Wolfe inFML. We aren’t really sure whoshe’ll be running against.
We’re guessing that
Lefty MacLeod will get hismachine running right andtake another win in KartModified. Daniel Wendel, RyanLower, and Tom Harringtonare all hoping to take over.
And, finally, in KML, wethink last year’s runner-up
Kristina Clark will finish onestep up from before.
MAKE NO MISTAKE
It may say XP on the door here, butthis is really an SSM car, and RandallWilcox will be the winning driver.
“Super Street Modified isa tough call…but sinceMiata is always theanswer, we’ve got topick Randall Wilcox”
